The Process & What to Expect
Before your first appointment, we’ll send you a online form to complete about your health and lifestyle. To help you get the most from your session, we kindly ask that you avoid alcohol and caffeine beforehand and take 500mg of vitamin C prior to arriving.
On the day, simply wear comfortable clothing and arrive at your scheduled time. We’ll review your completed form with you to ensure everything is in order, and then walk you through how the chamber works and what to expect during the session.
Once you’re ready, your practitioner will start the session and remain with you while it gradually pressurises. After the session, the chamber will be gently depressurised before you exit. From there, you’re free to carry on with your day feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Clinic Forms
Before your initial consult, we’ll send you an online form to complete. It covers your health history, lifestyle, and current health status. Our practitioners will review it in detail ahead of your visit.

Initial Session
When you're inside the chamber you may hear a hissing sound as it pressurizes. A temporary feeling of ear fullness, similar to flying is common and can be eased by yawning or swallowing.

Post Session
At the end of your session, the chamber will depressurise, which may feel similar to the pressurisation process. Once the pressure has fully returned to normal, you'll be free to continue with your day as usual.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1What is a mild hyperbaric chamber?
A hyperbaric chamber is a sealed, pressurized environment used to deliver oxygen therapy. During a session, you breathe in concentrated oxygen while the chamber pressure is increased to a level higher than normal atmospheric pressure.
This allows your body to absorb more oxygen into your bloodstream, which may support healing, reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and enhance overall wellbeing.
2What is the difference between 1.5 ATA and 1.9 ATA chamber?
The difference between 1.5 ATA and 1.9 ATA hyperbaric chamber mainly comes down to the depth of pressurization, which affects oxygen absorption in the body.
3What is the 1.5 ATA chamber commonly used for?
• General wellness and anti-aging
• Athletic recovery and performance
• Mild brain injuries & neurological support
• Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia
• Immune system support

5Which chamber is right for me?
If you’re looking for general wellness, mild recovery, or preventative care, a 1.5 ATA chamber is likely sufficient.
If you need more intensive treatment for serious conditions like neurological disorders, severe injuries, or chronic infections, a 1.9 ATA chamber may be a better choice.
6Is there anything I need to prepare for my treatment?
To help you get the most out of your hyperbaric oxygen session, please keep the following in mind:
• Vitamin C: Take 500mg of vitamin C upon waking and another 500mg about an hour before your session. This can help support oxygen absorption.
• Avoid caffeine: Please avoid caffeine before your appointment, as it can cause blood vessels to narrow, reducing blood flow and oxygen delivery.
• Comfort: Bring a pair of warm socks and wear layered, comfortable clothing, as the chamber can feel cool during treatment.
• Mobility: if you have any mobility challenges, please bring a support person with you to assist during your session. It is the clients responsibility to organize any support required for mobility needs.
• Fragrances: Kindly avoid perfumes, colognes, or strong scented products, as some clients are sensitive, and fragrances can linger inside the chamber, affecting others experience.

7What should I wear?
We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing made from natural fibers like cotton. Dress in layers and bring warm socks, as the chamber can feel cool. Please avoid synthetic fabrics, tight clothing, jewellery, perfumes, and heavy lotions. Shoes aren’t worn inside the chamber, so socks are ideal. If you’re unsure what to wear, feel free to contact us, we’re happy to help you prepare.
8Are there any research to support mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
Yes, research increasingly supports hyperbaric oxygen therapy at various pressures. While 1.3 – 1.5 ATA chambers are often used for general wellness, most clinical studies show stronger therapeutic effects at 1.9 ATA and above, particularly for chronic wounds, brain injuries, stroke recovery, long COVID, and radiation damage. Higher pressure chambers are linked to improved oxygen delivery, cellular repair, reduced inflammation, and enhanced neuroplasticity. The evidence base continues to grow as clinical interest expands.
9Are your staff medically trained?
Our team consists of qualified naturopaths who are trained and experienced in operating both the 1.5 ATA and 1.9 ATA hyperbaric oxygen chambers. They are knowledgeable about the therapy protocols, safety procedures, and can provide guidance on the use of the chambers within their scope of practice. For medical conditions requiring physician oversight, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting treatment.
10How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions needed varies depending on the individual and the condition being addressed. Some people may feel benefits after just a few sessions, while others especially those with chronic or more complex issues may require more sessions. Since everyone responds differently, it’s common to start with a set number of sessions and then assess how you’re feeling before deciding whether to continue. If you have specific health concerns, it’s always a good idea to discuss them with your healthcare provider alongside your hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
11Do I need a doctor’s referral?
For most clients, a doctor’s referral is not required to begin hyperbaric oxygen therapy. However, if you have a complex medical condition or taking multiple medications, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting treatment. This helps ensure your safety and coordinates care appropriately. If you have any concerns or underlying health issues, getting medical approval is an important precaution.
12Is it safe, are there any negative side effects?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally safe and well-tolerated when administered correctly. Most people experience no issues, though some may have mild ear pressure, sinus discomfort, or temporary fatigue, similar to flying. Serious side effects like oxygen toxicity or barotrauma are rare and usually linked to higher pressures. We follow strict safety protocols and provide a full briefing to ensure you’re comfortable and informed.
13I’m claustrophobic, is this suitable?
If you have mild claustrophobia, you may still find the session manageable, our chamber has windows and two-way communication to help you feel at ease. Many clients feel more comfortable after seeing the space and learning how it works. However, if your claustrophobia is severe, this therapy may not be suitable. You're welcome to visit beforehand, view the chamber, and ask questions, there’s no pressure to proceed if it doesn’t feel right for you.
14Are there any contraindications with my medications?
Most medications are safe to use with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, though some, such as certain chemotherapy drugs, antibiotics, or seizure-threshold-lowering medications may not be compatible. Please speak with our staff for more details. We recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting therapy, especially if you're on multiple medications or have a complex condition. While we can't offer medical advice, we're happy to provide information for your doctor or pharmacist.
15Can I consume liquids prior to the chamber session?
Yes, you can drink water or other non-caffeinated, non-carbonated fluids before your session, staying hydrated is encouraged. However, because each session lasts 90 minutes, we recommend avoiding large amounts of liquid right beforehand. If you need to use the bathroom during the session, decompression will take a up to 10 minutes, so it's best to go just before your appointment and drink moderately in advance.
16How long does it take to compress the chamber?
Compression time varies slightly between the two chambers:
• 1.5 ATA chamber: Approximately 5-7 minutes
• 1.9 ATA chamber: Approximately 10-12 minutes
We increase pressure gradually to ensure your comfort and to give your ears time to equalize. If you ever feel any discomfort during the process, we can pause or slow down to help you adjust safely.

17What if there is an emergency and I need to get out?
Your safety is our top priority. In an emergency, we can begin decompressing the chamber immediately, though the process takes a few minutes to ensure it's done safely and to prevent issues like ear or sinus barotrauma. You’ll have continuous two-way communication with our staff throughout your session, and we’re fully trained to respond quickly and support you if you feel unwell or need assistance.
18What is the oxygen purity level?
Our chambers deliver 95% ± 5% of pure oxygen at increased pressure, but your body only absorbs what it needs. The key benefit of hyperbaric therapy comes from the pressure itself, which allows your body to take in significantly more oxygen than it would under normal conditions.
19Can I get oxygen toxicity from a session?
Oxygen toxicity is rare in both 1.5 ATA and 1.9 ATA chambers when treatments follow proper safety protocols. If you have health concerns, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before starting therapy.
20Can I do less than 90 minutes per session?
We only offer 90 minute sessions due to shorter sessions having limited use for supporting detoxification through the blood transport system, (e.g., after chemical or environmental exposure) and are not as effective for deeper healing. Our standard 90 minutes sessions are supported by current research, which shows this duration is most ideal for oxygen to reach the tissues, where it can support effective healing, regeneration, and recovery
21How will I feel during and after the treatment?
Everyone responds differently to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Some people feel energized, clear-headed, or relaxed afterward, while others may experience temporary lightheadedness or fatigue as the body adjusts to increased oxygen and pressure. Mild ear pressure, similar to flying, is common during compression, and we’ll guide you on how to equalize it comfortably. As your body adapts, many clients report a growing sense of wellbeing and improved recovery over time.
22Can people with mobility issues use the chamber?
Yes, in most cases people with mobility issues can use the chamber. our team conducts a safety screening before treatment. If mobility is limited, a support person is recommended to assist with entering and exiting the chamber, as staff cannot provide physical assistance.
23Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe for people with implants or pacemakers?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may not be suitable for individuals with certain implants, especially electronic or mechanical devices like pacemakers, cochlear implants, or insulin pumps. Please disclose any implants during your intake process so we can assess compatibility and, if needed, request medical clearance. If you have a pacemaker or similar device, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting therapy.
24What can I do in the chamber?
Many clients bring a book or crossword to pass the time. In the 1.5 ATA chamber, electronic devices like phones or tablets are permitted. However, in the 1.9 ATA chamber, electronics are not allowed, so we recommend bringing reading material, a crossword, or simply using the time to relax or nap.
25How will I communicate while in the chamber?
We stay in contact with you throughout your session. Communication is done via walkie- talkies for both chambers. If you need anything, just let us know anytime.
